Guild Philosophy -- for WotLK
Tivoli was formed a few months after The Burning Crusade expansion and do
not consider itself a "hardcore" guild. Instead, we think of ourselves as hardcore raiders on parttime -- or "flawed" raiders.
We are all raiders by heart – our greatest moments in WoW are when we struggle on a boss, tuning the strategies, wiping, repairing, and yelling on VT at the thrill of the kill – and then going on to the next boss. However we do so on part time – we can’t or won’t spend the time in-game to compete for "server first".
We have families, work and studies which all comes before WoW. However, once raiding, we do it seriously and efficiently and look to go as far and fast as possible given our limited raiding hours.
Raid Progression --
click for full listWe like to think we did pretty well in TBC; fully clearing SSC (Nov 07), The Eye (Jan 08), Mt Hyjal (Mar 08) and Black Temple (May 08) as well as the first boss in SWP (Sep 08). Post-nerf in 3.0, we downed M'uru in Sunwell before the launch of WotLK.
We fully cleared Naxx and Malygos + did Sarth3D in 25 and 10 man prior to 3.1.
Yogg-25 went down in June 2009 and some of our raiders have the 10-man hard mode drakes (Naxx and/or U10).
Totc-25 normal mode is trivial; see the above link for progression in 25 man heroic.
Raiding Times:Our regular 25-man raids are Thu+Sun+Mon+Tue; 20:00 to 23:00 CET.
We dont use DKP or strict organization for 10-man raids; we still run them (a lot), though.
Raiding experienceWe expect applicants to know what raiding is about; preferably in 25 man.
Absolute guidelines are hard to come by, but as per Oct 2009, we'll be sceptical to anyone
claiming "major raiding experience" if you never killed Yogg and An00b -- at least in 10 man.
Furthermore, the more raid experience you had before WotLK, the better. Good things include
participation in in old BWL/AQ/Naxx runs, full clear of SSC/TK or plenty of MtH/BT runs before the 3.0 nerfs.
Gear requirementsTivoli only recruit lvl 80 characters with raid-ready gear:
- most of the gear available from badges & entry-level raids
- best quality gems & enchants in all slots
- professions that are useful for raiding (directly or in support of)
- sufficient reputation with all factions to buy the best raid enchants/recipes
- wearing PvP gear for PvE = pretty much an automatic rejection
We expect you to have a talent spec and gear for PvE when applying.
If there are obvious "mistakes" in your spec or gear, expect a fast rejection.
Note #1: We're picky about hit rating; both for casters and melee. Applying as a caster or hunter without being fully hit capped = near automatic rejection. For melee, we also expect you be soft-capped for expertise.
Note #2: To pass a trial and become a raider in Tivoli, you need to have access to epic shoulder enchants, i.e. either
- be exhalted with the Sons of Hodir
- be an inscriptor with enough skill to create the best shoulder enchants
Raider Requirements:You are a serious raider which includes
- bringing consumables
- constantly strive to upgrade your gear
- use the best enchants and gems available
You believe in raiding in an positive but open atmosphere. Mistakes happen and are ok, but constructive criticism is a neccessity.
You try your best to be available for at least 2/3 of the regularly scheduled raids. If the guild really needs you on a particular day, you make an effort to come.
You don’t mind wiping on a new encounter.
You have Ventrillo 3.0 installed.
